GRNC has learned that an important gun rights bill, H562, is in grave danger of being watered down during Representative N. Leo Daughtry’s committee meeting, early on Tuesday morning (04-28-15). (You can read more about H562 below).
Once again, it appears that some Republicans may have forgotten who gave them the supermajority they currently enjoy. Of course, it’s pro-Second Amendment voters like you who put them where they are, and you did it for a reason. Unfortunately, politicians often have short memories, and it looks like they need another reminder of who sent them to Raleigh.
REP. DAUGHTRY AND OTHERS CANNOT BE ALLOWED TO TAKE GUN RIGHTS VOTERS FOR GRANTED!
Don’t allow Rep. Daughtry to water down H562, as he seems to be planning to do in Tuesday morning’s committee meeting. Please take a moment to phone and email Rep. Daughtry, as soon as you see this message. Below, under “Immediate Action Required,” see how you can quickly and easily send him a strong message.
H 562: “Amend Firearms Laws.” This comprehensive bill would further open up the state fair to concealed handgun permit-holders, remove restrictions from educational properties, permit guns in locked vehicles at places of employment, remove CLEO discretion in signing BATFE paperwork for Title II firearms, authorize hunting with short-barreled rifles, and more.

I am writing to demand that Tuesday morning’s committee meeting not be used to water down H562. I am a pro-gun voter, and as such, I and others like me, are a large part of the reason Republicans enjoy a supermajority in the General Assembly.
I would be incensed to learn that ostensibly pro-gun politicians have squandered their supermajority by watering down important bills, such as H562 (“Amend Firearms Laws”). If H562 is not left intact, you will be sending a clear message to gun rights voters like me, and it will not be well received.
I demand that you do the right thing and leave H562 intact. I will be carefully watching your actions on this matter through alerts from Grass Roots North Carolina.
