HB 1132 WON, CASTLE DOCTRINE STILL STALLED

Good work, HB 1132 passed and will become law Jan. 1, 2010. As a result of this measure, county sheriffs will be mandated to send out renewal reminders at least 45 days prior to expiration. Also if you apply for renewal at least 30 days prior to expiration, your permit will remain in force until the renewal is complete. Special thanks go out to Rep. MARK HILTON for his fine work on this bill. Now that the decks are cleared of HB 1132, we can now focus more fully on SB 928, the Castle Doctrine. As we have informed you, Rep. Deborah Ross has been delaying SB 928 in her committee by refusing it a hearing. Stay tuned, we have something special planned… more on that later.
