<\/strong>North Carolina Gun Rights Supporters, we saw the last session of the legislature end with unfinished business.\u00a0 Among the fruit left hanging was final REPEAL of our racist, Jim Crow Pistol Purchase Permit statute.\u00a0 \u00a0Although we secured legislative passage of Pistol Purchase Permit repeal in both the House and Senate, with the full support of the NC Sheriff\u2019s Association we may add, Governor Cooper SPITEFULLY VETOED the bill (HB398) and an override vote was NOT attempted.<\/span><\/div>\n

We at GRNC worked hard in our last election to elect the necessary supermajorities in both chambers to override Governor Cooper\u2019s veto.\u00a0 \u00a0Our efforts resulted in a true Senate conservative supermajority and a \u201cworking conservative supermajority\u201d in the House for the 2023-2024 Session.<\/span><\/div>\n

SB40 \u2013 Pistol Purchase Permit Repeal has just been filed and we at GRNC thank its Primary Sponsors, Senators Britt, Daniel, and Perry<\/strong>.\u00a0 On Tuesday, February 14th the Senate Judiciary Committee will hear the bill in preparation for securing its Senate chamber floor vote.<\/span><\/div>\n
