Churches need protection

Our thoughts, prayers, and deepest sympathies go to the victims and their families of the Covenant School tragedy. We note that Senate Bill 41, recently vetoed by Governor Roy Cooper, is intended to protect exactly this type of institution: churches which sponsor schools.  We call upon members of the North Carolina General Assembly to override Governor Cooper’s veto in the interest of deterring violent sociopaths in churches with sponsor schools, thereby offering them the same protections enjoyed by other North Carolina churches since 1995.
