Sunday (July 1, 2018), “Guns, Politics and Freedom” will examine the implications of Donald Trump’s pending appointment of a replacement for retiring Supreme Court Associate Justice Anthony Kennedy with respect to the high court’s interpretation of the Second Amendment.
Host Paul Valone will interview renowned and widely quoted Campbell University constitutional law professor Greg Wallace, examining the Senate confirmation process, potential implications for the Court’s willingness to take up Second Amendment cases it has so far declined, and how a shift in ideology may impact the Court’s interpretation of what Clarence Thomas has lamented is being treated by lower courts as a “second class right.”
