GRNC uses election wins to advance legislation.

GRNC-PVF

Gun Rights Supporters:

As you have probably seen, Grass Roots North Carolina has been kicking tail, both in the courts and in elections. Just in the past few months, GRNC:

  • Sued Mecklenburg County Sheriff Garry McFadden over his obstructionism in issuing concealed handgun permits;
  • Struck a blow against the bump stock ban in part thanks to GRNC/GOA amicus briefs to 5th, 6th, and 10th Circuits; and
  • Won big in the 2022 elections, including sending Ted Budd to the U.S. Senate, a clean sweep of judicial races, and near-supermajorities in the General Assembly.

Mecklenburg lawsuit update

Despite GRNC and GOA having won an earlier consent order enjoining McFadden from obstructing handgun permits, he has continued slow-walking permits, in many cases taking more than a year to issue concealed handgun permits that should be issued in 45 days.

So GRNC and GOA sued him again, this time in US District Court for the Western District of NC, using the same lawyers who won a preliminary injunction against New York State’s new and draconian concealed carry restrictions. We anticipate a court hearing in the near future.

What’s next?

The problem with litigation is that it costs serious money. All of these wins come at a cost, and GRNC’s coffers are dangerously low at exactly the point that we need to consolidate our election wins by pushing an aggressive legislative agenda.

We intend to capitalize on our election win by:

  • Passing constitutional carry;
  • Repealing our Jim Crow-era pistol purchase permit law;
  • Closing the “church carry loophole” for churches which sponsor schools;
  • Protecting private shooting ranges;
  • Killing “red flag” gun confiscation bills introduce in NC; and much more.

But can we do it?

Pressuring politicians to vote for constitutional carry will require everything from millions of emails and thousands of automated phone alerts and text messages up to and including expensive radio ads.

I realize you may have donated to the election effort, perhaps even got a GRNC Life of Benefactor Membership. But unfortunately, I have to ask you to contribute again, in order that we can win not only in the courts, elections, but also in the legislative arena.

Please contribute to GRNC by clicking here.

As always, all-volunteer Grass Roots North Carolina will put your money to more efficient, effective use in defending your rights than any other group. With your help, GRNC will continue to build on our nearly three decades of success.

P.S. I realize that thanks to the “Biden economy,” money is tight. But a contribution $100, $50, or even $25 will help GRNC defend your rights.
