- CALL & EMAIL ATTORNEY GENERAL JOSH STEIN: Using the message below, let him know in no uncertain terms that you hold him responsible for using NCDOJ to harass concealed handgun applicants and instructors and that you will remember it. Call Stein at 919-716-6400. To ensure reaching him by email, use all 3 of these addresses: josh.stein@ncdoj.gov; jstein@ncdoj.gov; info@JoshStein.org
- CALL & EMAIL CRIMINAL JUSTICE STANDARDS PERSONNEL: Call Director Jeffrey Smythe (919-779-8203); Assistant Director Michelle Schilling (919-779-8205), and Program Director Bob Overton (984-275-7119) then email them at the following addresses: jsmythe@ncdoj.gov; MSchilling@ncdoj.gov; boverton@ncdoj.gov

- ATTEND THE NOVEMBER 15, PUBLIC MEETING: It will be held at 10:00am at the Wake Technical Community College, Public Safety Training Center, 321 Chapanoke Rd, Raleigh. Yes, they set it during working hours, quite probably to suppress attendance. ATTEND ANYWAY! Also note that our CHP matter will NOT be discussed here, but at a follow-on meeting. We believe this has been scheduled to prevent a repeat of the overflow situation we saw before.
- Upon completion of the Public Hearings, the committee will recess and then move to the alternate location of the Garner Performing Arts Center at 900 7 th Ave, Garner, NC 27529. Note that this is the location where the CHP matter will be discussed. The meeting will begin after the 1000 am meeting adjourns and to allow attendees appropriate travel time.
- PLEASE CONTRIBUTE TO GRNC: Help us fight gun control while we promote Second Amendment principles. Please CLICK HERE to contribute. Bear in mind that GRNC is an all-volunteer organization, so you can be sure your donations are put to the best possible use. Any amount helps, and any amount is appreciated.
DELIVER THIS MESSAGE i |
Suggested Subject: “I oppose any change that restricts concealed carry training”
Attorney General Stein, NCCJSD staff and commissioners:
Although you have reportedly backed away from widely opposed changes which would obstruct the ability to obtain training required for concealed handgun permits, please understand that I will vociferously oppose any proposed regulation which makes it hard to obtain concealed handgun permits. In particular, I will file a demand for review of any such regulation by the North Carolina General Assembly.
I strongly urge you to resist any attempt to restrict permits by anti-Second Amendment Attorney General Josh Stein. I will be monitoring your actions through Grass Roots North Carolina legislative alerts.
Respectfully,
