SB 50 is scheduled for a floor vote on 3/20/25. We encourage all of you to write your NC senators, both Democratic and Republican to support SB50. See link in the immediate action section below to find your legislator.

Jay Adams, Ben Moss,
and Brian Eccevaria
for their spirited defense in the House Judiciary 2 Committee, as Democrats Laura Budd and Deb Butler
led a variety of anti-gun activists in using unsourced, phony statistics; claims that it would let criminals carry guns (as if they already don’t); ridiculous allegations that somehow it let children take guns to school; and, failing all else, crying into the committee microphone. Weakening amendments in the committee failed, and the bill passed the committee in clean form. It now goes to the House Rules Committee, where it will likely be heard on Monday.
We greatly appreciate the support we’ve received from you and the rest of our members thus far, but we must be diligent and make sure HB 5 and SB 50 make it across the finish line.

Suggested Subject: Please Support SB50 and HB5 (Constitutional “Permitless” Carry)
Dear Sheriff:
I am writing to you to ask you for your support on House Bill 5 and Senate Bill 50 to enable law abiding citizens to exercise their 2A rights and the ability to protect themselves and others they care about.
Twenty-nine states in the U.S. have already adopted constitutional carry, with none of the dire predictions coming to fruition. In fact, the Crime Prevention Research Center finds a significant reduction in violent crime among states which adopt permitless/Right to Carry (RTC) laws.
And that increased concealed carry of firearms does not increase the incidence of stolen firearms or decrease police effectiveness Lott and Moody. In fact armed citizens are very effective in stopping criminal shootings Lott 2025.
