WAKE COUNTY GUN OWNERS NEED YOUR SUPPORT |
AS KNIGHTDALE ANTI-GUN ACTIVISTS CONTINUE TO PUSH COUNTY-WIDE GUN CONTROL IN WAKE COUNTY, EACH OF YOU READING THIS ALERT NEED TO REACH OUT TO Wake County Commissioners and let them know in no uncertain terms any further action to change Wake County’s-Firearms Ordinance is not acceptable.
Even though Wake County gun owners turned out in large numbers and caused Commissioners to ostensibly “table” efforts to impose new time and distance restrictions on recreational shooting activities on private property throughout unincorporated Wake County, the fight is not yet over. Knightdale anti-gun activists will not let this matter end.
In response to their unrelenting pressure, Commissioners have doubled down on a so called “Listening Session” in the gun banners home turf, the Town of Knightdale, this coming Tuesday September 13th.
The changes they seek are designed not to provide reasonable public safety as proponents would claim, but rather to create wide swaths of areas within the county where the lawful discharge of firearms for training or recreation will forever be prohibited.
Most significantly, property owners with less than 300 yards separation from cited structures (vs the current 100 yard standard) will no longer be able to lawfully discharge firearms at any time on their private property.
Simply put, these revisions are designed to terminate the rights of property owners to decide what is the best and proper use of their properties.
Amazingly, the incidents cited by these activists as necessitating imposition of these changes on ALL law-abiding Wake County residents are in fact already felony level offenses committed by criminals, a fact confirmed at the Public Hearing by the activist themselves.
Why does this matter to YOU, one who lives in a more gun friendly county than Wake? Simply put, if anti-gun activists can win here, they will be emboldened to take the same message to County Boards across the state.
Wake County gun owners have already seen THEIR share of gun rights repression in the form of “woke” Democrat Sheriff Gerald Baker who not only resisted issuing both Pistol Purchase and Concealed Handgun Permits for over a year, but also took control of and summarily shut down a Wake County public training range in use for many years.
Thankfully, GRNC and GOA successfully sued him (and won!) to comply with state statutes on procedure.
Not only that, but following the meeting on Tuesday September 6th, witnesses saw a ready to intervene, fully prepared and equipped Wake County SWAT Team staged adjacent to the meeting facility. Were the Commissioners expecting violence from a group of well-behaved citizens merely speaking out to protect their constitutional rights?
Remember, in the eyes of the gun banners, lawful citizens exercising gun rights are DANGEROUS THREATS!
IMMEDIATE ACTION REQUIRED!

DELIVER THIS MESSAGE |
Second, call the commissioners using the following phone numbers:
Chairman Sig Hutchinson (919) 856-5575
Vice-Chairwoman Shinica Thomas (919) 856-5566
Commissioner Matt Calabria (919) 856-5576
Commissioner Miria Cervania (919) 856-5579
Commissioner Susan Evans (919) 856-5574
Commissioner James West (919) 856-5699
Commissioner Vickie Adamson (919) 856-5577
Deliver This Message:
“Commissioner, changes to the Wake County Code of Ordinances Chapter 130 Firearms are not necessary and I ask you to take no action to further impair the lawful use of firearms on one’s personal property in unincorporated Wake County. Any such action to criminalize lawful behavior is an infringement not only on the right to keep, bear, and use arms but also on the property rights of owners to use their property as they see fit.
Not only that, but I have questions regarding the deployment of a Wake County tactical SWAT Team outside the meeting facility. Were you, Commissioner, expecting violence from law-abiding citizens publicly asserting their constitutional rights?
I will be following this matter through GRNC Alerts.”
Finally, email the Commissioners as a group using this “cut and paste email list:
