NO MORE EXCUSES FOR HOUSE LEADERS

 

 

Although small in numbers, the anti-gun crowd is quite vocal, and loud noises create uneasiness in otherwise solid, pro-gun legislators. If ever there was a time to speak up for yourself, to be the loudest one in the room, now is the time . . .

Currently, there are several superb, pro-Second Amendment bills under consideration in the NC House. These are the bills we’ve been waiting for, bills that are critical to the restoration and protection of each citizen’s unalienable right to keep and bear arms. On the aggregate, you might say this legislative session is “the big enchilada.” It’s all we’ve been fighting for!

Unfortunately, many, if not all of these bills are in danger of being unrecognizably watered down, or worse, killed off entirely. This is because many in House leadership have become squeamish. Leadership has been reluctant to take action on these pro-gun bills because lately, the opposition has been quite vocal. We cannot allow good bills to die in the face of small but squeaky wheels. There are more of us than there are of them, and we are on the side of what is right.

Making your voice heard clearly and often is not a problem. Below, under ‘Immediate Action Required,’ see how you can easily let your voice be heard. Please join GRNC in declaring, “We will not be defeated by the anti-civil rights crowd!” Then, help us deluge NC House leaders with an insistent, pro-gun message so we can realize that goal.

The pro-Second Amendment bills under consideration in the NC House are as follows:

  • Constitutional Carry (H69 and H201)
  • Concealed carry on UNC and community college campuses by concealed handgun permit-holders (H251)
  • The Omnibus Firearms Bill (H345)
  • Concealed Handgun Standardization Act (H438)
  • Elimination of the Jim Crow-era pistol purchase permit (PPP) system (H201)
  • Concealed Carry/Church School Prop (H174)

“Lucky 13” News

Incidentally, GRNC is happy to announce that North Dakota is the thirteenth, and most recent state to codify constitutional carry into state law. It’s bitter-sweet that they beat us to the “Lucky 13” moniker, but we still have the opportunity to be number fourteen, “Lucky 7+7.” We’ll have to hurry though. Currently, twenty other states have constitutional carry bills under consideration. Let’s get this thing done!

Please take a few minutes each day this week to email and phone House leadership. If you can, do it during business hours. If that isn’t practical, do it whenever you can; leave voice-mail messages if necessary.

Hello, I’m calling the representative today to express my great disappointment that he, as a leader in the House, has not taken steps to move pro-gun legislation out of committee, and on to the House floor for a vote.

The clock is ticking on this year’s legislative session, and any failure to pass the several pro-gun bills, such as constitutional carry, will be recognized as a failure to follow through on pro-gun campaign rhetoric, and will not be taken lightly by voters like me. No excuses for failure will be acceptable.

Please tell the representative that I am insisting that all pro-Second Amendment bills be moved toward passage immediately. The voters are watching closely. Thank you.

The clock is ticking on this year’s legislative session, and I am very disappointed to learn that several pro-Second Amendment bills are still languishing in committee. North Carolina voters have given your party the majority in Raleigh for the express purpose of supporting and passing legislation such as this, and I insist that you follow through.

The bills I’m referring to are as follows:

  • Constitutional Carry (H69 and H201)
  • Concealed carry on UNC and community college campuses by CHP-holders (H251)
  • The Omnibus Firearms Bill (H345)
  • Concealed Handgun Standardization Act (H438)
  • Elimination of the Jim Crow-era PPP system (H201)
  • Concealed Carry/Church School Prop (H174)
With your full support, I expect these pro-Second Amendment bills to receive hearings, move out of committee, and to the House floor for a vote. I know that House leaders have the authority to make this happen, and no excuses for failure will be accepted.

North Carolina has already fallen behind other states on the march to more Second Amendment freedom. North Dakota just crossed the “Lucky 13” finish line to become the most recent state with constitutional carry written into state law. Currently, there are twenty other states with constitutional carry legislation under serious consideration.
 
Will North Carolina live up to one of its license plate slogans, “First in Freedom”? It certainly ought to, and at the moment, it’s up to you.
