GRNC Alert 03-28-17: Keep the Pressure On! There is Proof it’s Working!

KEEP THE PRESSURE ON!
MORE VICTORIES ON THE HORIZON

This is a friendly reminder asking you to continue calling and emailing NC House leadership. It is critical that they be reminded that their actions on this session’s gun bills are being closely and continuously monitored.

VICTORIES ON HB 174

And as it turns out, the pressure you are applying is working. Surprise, surprise! All who sent emails and made phone calls on Monday can claim credit for Monday night’s passage of HB 174 (Concealed Carry on Church/School Property)!

Just as you insisted, HB 174 moved, the bill passed, and it did so without being watered down with an unconstitutional ‘opt-in’ clause!

Nice work!

That’s two down, but still at least five to go

It remains critical that House leaders understand that gun owners will not accept failure on any of these bills. We are well aware that leadership has the influence and resources necessary to move these bills toward passage, and we saw evidence of that on Monday night, with HB 174.

No More Excuses!

It’s Time for the House Leaders to Lead

See below for contact information and phone/email text so you can keep the pressure on.

DELIVER THIS PHONE MESSAGE:

Hello, I’m calling to thank the representative for his contribution to last night’s successful passage of HB 174. These are great victories! I’m also calling to express concern over the fact that there are so many other superb, pro-gun bills that have not been moved to the floor for a vote, such as Constitutional Carry and the Pistol Purchase Permit repeal.

The clock is ticking on this year’s legislative session, and any failure to pass the remaining pro-gun bills, such as constitutional carry, will be recognized as a failure of House leadership. The passage of HB 174 makes it clear that House leaders possess the influence and the resources to bring these bills to a vote.

Please tell the representative that I am insisting that all pro-Second Amendment bills be moved toward passage immediately, just as HB 174 was. The voters are watching closely. Thank you.

Be a Second Amendment Hero: Move All Gun Bills Now!

Dear Representative:

First of all, thank you very much for your contribution to the successful passage of HB 174. Passage of this bill is a great victory for law-abiding gun owners in North Carolina.

Even with that passage of HB 174, the clock continues to tick on this year’s legislative session, and I am still very concerned about the several pro-Second Amendment bills which are still languishing in committee. North Carolina voters have given your party the majority in Raleigh for the express purpose of supporting and passing legislation such as this, and I insist that you follow through on all of these bills.

The bills I’m referring to are as follows:

  • Constitutional Carry (H69 and H201)
  • Concealed carry on UNC and community college campuses by CHP-holders (H251)
  • The Omnibus Firearms Bill (H345)
  • Concealed Handgun Standardization Act (H438)
  • Elimination of the Jim Crow-era PPP system (H201)
With your full support, I expect these pro-Second Amendment bills to receive hearings, move out of committee, and to the House floor for a vote. I know that House leaders have the authority to make this happen, and no excuses for failure will be accepted.

I will continue to monitor your actions on this matter through alerts from Grass Roots North Carolina.

Respectfully,

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!

As you know, GRNC is an all volunteer force. As such, we are looking for volunteers in a couple of areas:

  • WEB DEVELOPMENT
Experience in web development to include HTML, CSS & Java Scripting. If interested, contact GRNC President using the following contact form: http://www.grnc.org/contact
  • ALERT WRITING
Solid writing skills, ability to translate legal, political, technical and firearms jargon into layman’s terms and make the public care about the issue. Ability to manipulate HTML style emails on the code level is a nice to have. If interested, please contact GRNC using this e-mail address: alert@grnc.org

If you have these skills, you can help the Second Amendment fight by enhancing and expanding GRNC’s presence, ensuring our message is received broadly in these modern times.

Don’t let your talents go to waste, as you could be the difference between gun-rights advancements and gun-rights losses.

Be the person who says, “I did something!” Instead of the person who says, “I should have done something.”
