GRNC Alert 2/28/20: Tell them to vote for the 2nd Amendment Protection Act

YOUR SAFETY DEPENDS ON YOUR COMMON

SENSE ABILITY TO DEFEND YOURSELF

It’s time to voice your support for your civil rights and your family’s safety with the Second Amendment Protection Act.

We know that a weapon can be any object in the hands of a person bearing hate in their heart…and in most houses of worship a parishioner with a concealed carry permit CAN stop evil before it gets too far down the aisle.  BUT not if your house of worship also happens be home to a school (even a preschool) during the week- in that case sitting in the pew could make YOU a sitting duck.

The Second Amendment Protection Act (HB 134) sponsored by Representatives McNeely, Saine, Adams, Carter and others, seeks to remedy the gaping hole in the protection of the faithful by allowing persons with concealed carry permits to ACTUALLY bring a concealed handgun along with their Bible to worship services (at those times when school is not in session, of course). Let’s raise our voices to a SHOUT-let your Representatives know we NEED this piece of fire insurance should the devil try to usher some poor congregant prematurely into eternity.

Other provisions of this Bill would allow certain employees of law enforcement facilities and most importantly EMT personnel in tactical situations, with proper training and licensure, to conceal carry. First responders should not have to fear for their safety in perilous situations -despite the objections from those standing on the sidelines, masked up and scared of guns.

How we got to the point of having to legislate the protection of our basic civil rights is sad indeed—but now we know better. WE WON’T SIT DOWN! WE WON’T SHUT UP!

IMMEDIATE ACTION REQUIRED!

Suggested Subject: “Support the 2nd Amendment Protection Act”

 Dear Representative:

I want to be safe as I worship—every person has the RIGHT to be safe at their house of worship and HB 134 would ensure that congregants are safe even if their place of worship serves the community as a private school or pre-school during the week.

HB 134 also provides that no EMT should ever be put in a dangerous situation fearing for their life when working to save the life of another—saving lives is their passion and protecting their own life is no less important. I would want that for myself and so would you in that position.

In the strongest terms possible and most respectfully, I ask you to vote to pass the Second Amendment Protection Act.  I will be monitoring your actions through Grass Roots North Carolina legislative alerts.

Respectfully,
