• ATTEND THE NOV. 4 MEETING: The Pitt Co. Commission plans to vote on the ordinance on Nov. 4. We must pack this meeting with angry gun voters.  The meeting will be held at 6:00 PM at the Pitt County Office Building, 1717 W 5th St, Commissioners’ Auditorium, Greenville, NC 27834. A GRNC representative will be at the meeting.

Dear: Pitt County Commissioners:

I strongly urge you to oppose the proposed “Discharge of Firearms Ordinance” as a meddling political response to irresponsible activity affecting a very small area of Pitt County. The fact that your sheriff refuses to enforce existing law does not justify restrictions on the ability of lawful citizens to shoot on private property. 

In your latest shell game, you attempt to hide a near-complete ban on shooting on private property behind a maze of intentionally opaque regulations and requirements. Rest assured that citizens can see through your subterfuge.

Please be aware that I will be closely monitoring your actions through Grass Roots North Carolina legislative alerts.
