GRNC Needs Your Help to Pass Constitutional Carry

Gun Rights Supporters:

It has been a busy couple of weeks as GRNC shepherded passage of Senate Bill 50, “Freedom to Carry NC” through its passage in the NC House. It is now on its way to Governor Josh Stein (D, GRNC 0-star), who will most certainly veto it. More on that below

A brief ‘thanks’ …

Kidwell-SB 50.jpg

Thanks to your efforts, we have won a great victory. GRNC also thanks Senate President Pro Tem Phil Berger (R-Guilford, Rockingham, ***) and particularly Speaker Destin Hall (R-Caldwell, Watauga, ****), who kept his word to get permitless carry to the House floor despite a divided caucus.

Credit is also due to bill sponsors Senators Danny Britt (R-Hoke, Robeson, Scotland, ****), Warren Daniel (R-Buncombe, Burke, McDowell, ****), and Eddie Settle (R-Alexander, Surry, Wilkes, Yadkin, ****).

In the House, particular thanks are due to bill sponsor/advocates Representatives Jay Adams (R-Catawba, ****) and especially Keith Kidwell (R-Beaufort, Dare, Hyde, Pamlico, ****), who sponsored and defended permitless carry in committee meetings and on the floor. Also eloquently defending the bill was Brian Echevarria (R-Cabarrus, ****).

…before getting back to work

But we have a problem. Two RINO Republicans voted against SB 50: Ted Davis (R-New Hanover) and Bill Brisson (R-Bladen, Sampson). If they vote against over-riding Stein’s inevitable veto, Davis and Brisson might kill constitutional carry.

First, we need to light up their districts, which we will in coming days, by directing angry gun voters to call them and express their displeasure. Similarly, at least 8 other Republicans “walked” by not voting. (John Bell and Jonathan Almond appear to have legitimate excuses for their absence.)

Help ‘Max’ take a bite out of RINOs

More importantly, politicians need to know that our mascot “Max” can bite. Any Republican who votes against constitutional carry needs a primary election challenge. Why? Because only when we can deliver pain in the election season for politicians’ misbehavior in the legislative season will we be feared. And only because we are politically feared are we politically respected.

Because GRNC is limited by law from using membership funds to impact elections, we can only do that through our federally registered political action committee, the GRNC Political Victory Fund (GRNC-PVF). Right now, GRNC-PVF is low on funds because, frankly, we threw everything we had at the last election.

So I am asking you to contribute to GRNC-PVF by going to:

Only with your support can GRNC continue its unprecedented 30-years of success. And as an all-volunteer organization, I vow to put your money to more efficient, effective use in defending your rights than any other group.

P.S. After four years of suffering under “Bidenomics,” I realize that your budget is probably still tight. But a contribution of $250, $100, or even $25 will help GRNC defend your rights!
