NC SENATE
|
Senate Republicans seem just a bit too cautious on gun rights. . .
Republicans in the NC Senate are very gingerly evaluating the Omnibus Gun Bill, which recently passed the NC House (Constitutional Carry and more).
It seems they are trying to do the right thing, and it’s much better than several other options, but we should probably expect a little more eagerness from Republicans on Second Amendment rights. This situation needs to be watched closely, as caution can quickly turn into stalling, and worse.
Clearly Republicans in the NC Senate need to hear from gun owners so they don’t forget why we worked so hard to pass this bill in the House. They need to know that we’ll work just as hard to get it through the Senate, and there will be political consequences for Senators who stand by and do nothing as the bill fades (should that occur).
Below, see how you can easily contact Republicans in the NC Senate to remind them what voters expect.

Hello, I am calling because I am very concerned that the Omnibus Gun Bill has not been met with the eagerness I would expect from Senate Republicans. Gun voters expect Republicans in the Senate to pass this gun rights bill as soon as possible, and we expect it to be passed without changes. In fact, we have given your party a super majority specifically to pass bills just like this one. We are watching, and nothing but success on gun rights will do. Thank you.

Suggested Subject:
“Pass Omnibus Gun Bill without Changes”
Dear Senator:
I am writing today because I am very concerned that the Omnibus Gun Bill has been met with too much caution in the Senate, and that it is not moving toward passage. If that is the case, I can assure you that voters are behind this bill entirely, and there is no reason to be overcautious.
Gun voters expect Republicans in the Senate to pass this gun rights bill as soon as possible, and to pass it without changes. In fact, we have given your party a super majority specifically so you would pass bills just like this one. We are watching, and nothing but success on gun rights will do.
Pass the Omnibus Gun Bill and pass it without changes. This is what voters are expecting, and what we’re hoping for.
I will be watching your actions on this issue through alerts from Grass Roots North Carolina.
Respectfully,
