GRNC Alert Stop the Executive overreach of the Bump-stock ban

WHAT WILL THEY “WRITE OUT” NEXT?

There is a very good reason why we don’t have one branch of government dictating the law.

Our limited government and our Liberty is based on coequal branches to maintain a delicate balance of power between them. Each branch: Legislative, Executive and Judicial are limited in what they can do so that so one doesn’t become more powerful than the others.

This principle is more important than any one issue under consideration.

Enter the proposed ‘Bump stock’ ban with one of the Coequal branches is trying to take more power than it is allowed. You might not care if these firearm accessories are banned, but the next time around, it might be your firearm that is on the chopping block.  Let’s phrase it this way:

First they came for the Bump-stocks…But I didn’t own one, so I said nothing.

…..Then they came for the AR-15 Pistols…But I didn’t own one, so I said nothing.

………So when they come for your ordinary shotgun or hunting rifle who will speak for you?

The original definitions and regulations of the National Firearms Act (NFA) were carefully crafted by Congress and signed into law by the President and Constitutionally tested by the Supreme Court. They literally determine whether or not you can have a particular firearm and minor changes to these definitions could mean your guns could be banned next.

The proposed ‘Bump stock’ ban would have the executive branch – The President – over stepping his authority in trying to ban these accessories by simply ‘writing them out’.

This type of executive overreach would set a very dangerous precedent.  This could mean that a future anti-rights President could do the same and ban other accessories or guns for that matter.

What’s to stop them from selecting certain types of guns and ‘writing them out’?

IMMEDIATE ACTION REQUIRED!

DELIVER THIS MESSAGE

“I am writing in opposition to the ‘bump device’ ban, or any such rule.

The Executive branch of the Federal government simply does not have the authority to ‘write out’ the existence of certain firearms or accessories that just happen to be unpopular at the moment.

This proposed rule will be unprecedented in the executive branch redefining a device for semi-automatic firearm as a ‘machine gun’.

The President stated that he doesn’t care and that he is ‘writing it out’ himself.  What is to stop future Chief executives from doing the same with other items or firearms?

We have three co-equal branches of government for a reason, so that one branch cannot take more power than it is allowed under the Constitution.  If this dangerous precedent is set on this issue, what is to stop him or another from doing the same somewhere else?
