GRNC ALERT 10/17/21: You Get the Government You Neglect

• Call them today: and provide the following message:

  “Commissioner, there is no good reason to enact a repeal of lawful concealed carry in Pitt County facilities. By voting to do so, you are merely advancing an anti-gun rights agenda and taking advantage of your constituents’ inattention to the affairs of your county government. Concealed carry permit holders are thoroughly vetted by lengthy and detailed background checking, and, as a group are found to be more law abiding than even law enforcement personnel. The number of permit holders have increased significantly across the state and within Pitt County. By large measure these newest permit holders are often members of minority groups and women who seek merely the right to protect themselves and their loved ones from harm.  Contrary to comments made during the public hearing, concealed carry permit holders are not “Rambo’s” or vigilantes, but safe, sane and sober in conduct and demeanor.  Making them defenseless in pursuit of a leftist agenda is not in their best interest or yours. This will certainly be an election year issue, and gun owners’ vote. I urge you to reconsider your ill-advised decision to repeal lawful concealed carry and vote instead to table this ordinance for good Monday night.”

• FINALLY, ATTEND the COMMISSIONER’S MEETING Monday October 18th, at 6 PM: 
  • The regular meetings of the Pitt County Board of Commissioners are held each month on the first Monday at 9 a.m. and on the third Monday at 6 p.m.
    The meetings are held at:

    1717 W 5th Street
    Commissioners’ Auditorium
    Greenville, NC 27834

    NOTE:
     The Commissioners are under no obligation to schedule another Public Hearing on this matter to take their second and final vote on this matter. Hence, even if you do attend, you may not be afforded the opportunity to speak your mind. However, your presence in large numbers will send a clear message that this wrong, if concluded as expected, will not be forgotten.
    Remember to dress professionally and act responsibly. Be polite but firm in your resolve.
