Gun Rights Supporters:

The time for overriding Governor Josh Stein’s vetoes of gun bills has come. Even “Pravda,” otherwise known as the Raleigh News & Observer, admits that next week, the General Assembly will return to Raleigh and start trying to override vetoes, including two bills vital to Second Amendment supporters: SB 50, “Freedom to Carry NC,” and HB 193: “Firearms Law Revisions.” (And yes, they misstated the scope of SB 50 in the quote recounted here.)
SB 50 would create permitless concealed carry, while HB 193 would allow concealed handgun permit-holders with permission to carry in private schools.
The good news is that the NC Senate, which will be the first to re-consider SB 50, has the 6/10 supermajority needed for override. The bad news is that, at least on paper, the NC House doesn’t.
The best news, however, is that veto overrides depend not on how many people are in a given chamber, but instead on how many people show up to vote on a given day, giving Republicans some latitude in getting things done.
Our first problem
The first problem GRNC faces is that two turncoat RINOs (“Republicans in Name Only”) voted against SB 50 the last time, and 10 – either by coincidence or by design – were not present to vote. Heads up: In coming days, we will be sending you alerts with names and contact information for those who need to be reminded “who brung ‘em to the dance.”
But, as I teach in seminars:
- Only if you can deliver pain in the election season will politicians do your bidding in the legislative season; and
- Only if you are politically feared will you be politically respected.
How GRNC is politically feared …
As you may recall, GRNC is restricted by law from using membership funds for elections, meaning we need to raise money separately for GRNC-PVF. Unlike some other PACs, GRNC-PVF doesn’t throw money at candidates. Instead, we do the most sophisticated “independent expenditure” campaigns – mailings, calls, texts, radio spots, and geo-fencing – of any state-level organization in the country, all designed to defeat anti-gun politicians and elect those who support your rights.
We need your help to be feared in the election season, meaning we need to raise more money for GRNC’s federally registered political action committee, the GRNC Political Victory Fund (GRNC-PVF).
I realize you may already have kicked in – some of you, many times and for many dollars, for which you have my profound thanks. But we need to demonstrate to RINOs that any politician who doesn’t vote with us is buying himself a primary!
Accordingly, I am asking you to give teeth to our mascot “Max” – a pit bull with the Constitution clenched in his jaws, daring anyone to take it – by going HERE
As always, I vow to put your money to more efficient, effective use in defending your rights than any other group.

P.S. Given the victories in the 2024 elections, it is much harder for GRNC to raise money from gun rights supporters who figure they have already done their duty. If you can contribute $250, $125, $50, or even $25, it will help GRNC demonstrate to RINOs that we have the clout to unseat any who betray you.
