ELECT JUDGES WHO WON’T LEGISLATE FROM THE BENCH |
GRNC-PVF now provides judicial candidate recommendations
The recent Valone v. Troxler debacle, in which Judge Donald Stephens legislated from the bench to bar concealed carry from the NC state fair, underscores the importance of electing judges who adhere to the law as it is rather than as they want it to be. Unfortunately, Stephens isn’t up for re-election. But to keep his kind off the bench, GRNC’s federally-registered political action committee, the GRNC Political Victory Fund, is providing recommendations for statewide judicial races, including NC Supreme Court and NC Court of Appeals.
GRNC-PVF Judicial Candidate Recommendations:
Supreme Court (Chief Justice): | Mark Martin |
Supreme Court (Martin seat): | Bob Hunter |
Supreme Court (Hudson seat): | Eric Levinson |
Supreme Court (Beasley seat): | Mike Robinson |
Court of Appeals (Martin seat): | Marion Warren |
Court of Appeals (Hunter seat): | Bill Southern |
Court of Appeals (Stroud seat): | Donna Stroud |
Court of Appeals (Davis seat): | Paul Holcombe |

OPEN LETTER TO REP. MICHAEL SPECIALE |
Rep. Speciale is a pro-gun legislator who, unfortunately voted to permit debate on several anti-gun amendments to HB 937, not from a desire to see them pass, but from a sense of fairness, thereby lowering his GRNC evaluation from 4 stars (****) to one star (*). He recently wrote an online criticism of GRNC’s candidate evaluation process. To see GRNC Paul Valone’s carefully nuanced response, go to:
