| GOP Considers Anti-Gun RINO for NC House Seat… |
Recently, Representative Jacqueline Schaffer (NCH 105), who achieved GRNC’s highest rating, announced that she would not seek re-election. Gun owners across the state should be alarmed that an anti-gun RINO is poised to inherit her seat.
The day Schaffer announced her retirement current Charlotte-Mecklenburg County School Board Member Tim Morgan announced his candidacy. In 2013, while serving as NC School Boards Action Center President, Morgan and political director Leanne Winner joined forces with NC School Board Association (NCBA) President Evelyn Bulluck concocting a scheme to misappropriate tax dollars collected through county taxes to fund their anti-gun agenda.
Collusion with anti-gun NCBA to gut pro-2A bills
Remember one of the amendments included in HB 937 was the expansion of limited campus carry, which has recently been further expanded by HB 562 (both GRNC initiatives). Back in 2013, Tim Morgan and his anti-gun cohort Leanne Winner sought to repeal the limited Campus Carry provisions before it could go into effect. GRNC reported at the time that Winner was crisscrossing the state advising local school board members that “NCGS 14.269.2 is a safety concern for public schools”. She repeatedly and mockingly stated that the reason for allowing concealed carry permit holders to retain their guns in a locked car was to provide them with the opportunity to “save the day” in the event of a school shooting. But, in her opinion, the real effect of the legislation was to create a situation where adults angry over the outcome of a high school football game could settle their disputes by “shooting it out in the parking lots”. Winner explained that she would use the NCSBA 501(c)(4) organization Tim Morgan and she were organizing to repeal this provision of NC GS 14-269.2.
