ARE YOU WILLING TO LOSE DOLE?

Recent polls indicate that Senator Elizabeth Dole (100% pro-gun vote record, GRNC ****) is trailing Democrat Kay Hagan (vote record 64%, GRNC *) by as much as 5 pts. So you need to consider two things:

1. If Democrats get a “supermajority” of 60 votes in the US Senate – making them impervious to filibuster – THERE WILL BE NO GUN CONTROL WE CAN STOP.

2. Kay Hagan is not gun owners’ friend. During her 10 years in the NC Senate, HAGAN VOTED AGAINST YOU 36% OF THE TIME.

WHAT HAS HAGAN VOTED FOR?

* HAGAN VOTED TO REGISTER GUN OWNERS WITH THE FBI: SB680 would have required all *private* transfers at gun shows to be registered with the FBI.

* HAGAN VOTED TO SHUT DOWN GUN SHOWS: SB 680 would have made most gun show promoters ineligible for permits.

WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO ABOUT IT?

OVERLOOKED GRNC-PVF CANDIDATE RECOMMENDATION

As a rule, GRNC-PVF does not make blanket “endorsements” of candidates, preferring instead more limited “recommendations for effective voting strategies.” Since GRNC-PVF only focuses ONLY on contested races in which gun voters can make a difference, the lack of a recommendation should not reflect negatively on candidates in other races. We overlooked one candidate recommendation:

‘Same-Day Registration:’
VOTE EARLY, VOTE OFTEN
If you, a friend or family member missed the deadline to register to vote, it is not too late! “Same-Day Registration” enables you to register and vote in a single day *provided* you vote early at one of your county’s early voting centers. You may do so up to November 1.

Do you have friends or family members who are ambivalent, or “just didn’t have time” to register and vote? Put a “Remember in November” voter guide into their hands and take them to the polls.

CRITICAL DEADLINES & INFO:
* October 28: Deadline by which absentee ballots must be *received*
* November 1: Deadline for walk-in early voting
* November 4: VOTE between 6:30 AM and 7:30 PM
